Welcome to the first post of Kashvee’s Crafterdays!
Time and again, while reading books and novels, we fail to remember the exact page number we were on… with the mystic, exciting plot and climax of the book running through the imaginative eyes of our mind, the page/chapter number is a thing we tend to overlook. However, the only key which prevents us from leafing through each page 😅 , next time we pick up the book, are the trails we leave…. i.e., a BOOKMARK!
Here is a mini-glimpse of my multifarious collection of intricately handcrafted bookmarks!

Like these bookmarks assist us to return to the incomplete mystery of the engaging books, the bookmarks of life, help us return back to our incomplete, pending tasks!
I’ve penned down a short poem which exquisitely emphasizes on the dire need of trails i.e., bookmarks in our life….
The Bookmark of Life 🔖
When I imposed the fundamental- ‘Bookmarking A Page’
In my shambolic, chaotic, frenzied lifestyle,
I felt perspicacious as a meditating sage
From the initial instincts of an idiosyncratic juvenile!
I precisely re-plunged into the enigma of the novel’s twisted tale
Rather, than leafing through each chapter and page…
It was all the bookmark’s enchantment which left a trail;
And escorted me back to the original stage!
Likewise, when I left imprints of my tasks- ‘half-finished’;
To go on a hiatus and rejuvenate my wit…
The ‘bookmark trails’ helped me comeback as my heart poured,
Let’s get back to work, and make another run at it!

#Before you start anything, learn how to finish it!
So, let’s pick up our bookmarks of life, leave trails of incomplete tasks, complete our pending chores and get back to work!
Don’t Quit, Do it!

Nice!

What a beautiful analogy between ‘bookmarks’ and fulfilling incomplete chores of life. Fruition of those tasks gives a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment to take up new tasks and keep running. Well penned. It was delightful reading

Such a beautiful comparison Kashvee! We do tend to leave tasks incomplete and do later feel guilty when we want to start something else, and do very often receive comments such as, “finish that first, then do something else”. Incomplete tasks are also barriers preventing us to do new things, hence, it is truly essential to learn to finish something before starting it! After all, bookmarks are not for leaving in one book on one page for too long. Lastly, the bookmarks that you have made are so pretty and nice! If the current circumstances would permit, I would have requested you to make me one 🙂 . And I have felt the importance of a bookmark for I had once read a book almost twice just because I forgot the page I was on 😅 .

And, lastly, I’m really glad that you realized the importance of a bookmark 😅
I wish you were here so that I could gift you the bookmark right away 😅 🙂
Once again, thanks for all your appreciation!

Kashvee …… it’s a complete different thought taking Bookmark as so serious and important.
Your articulated hand made bookmarks are very beautiful and shows how artistic your thinking is and it’s even in your exercise.
The breaks and starts ….. the imagination to enhance the story at your me time and feeling the relaxation to complete one and taking another chapter of your liking.
It’s overall a very wonderful art you have to write, never thought of such
Characteristic topic and a poem on it is especial & distinctive.
God bless with highest achievement and prosperity.

I have a question, how you will the end of any task or activity without start working on it?
LikeLiked by 1 person
In the present 21st century, all of us are engaged in some task eternally- it may be a household chore, sleeping or even taking a break! We tend to take up several tasks either by interest, compulsion, lured by attractive results and a variety of other reasons…. however, being lured in the cycles of greed, and attractive options or being excessively compelled by anyone, we tend to switch to another task in no time, without completing the previous one! For instance, while writing an essay, we must know how to complete it! While sleeping, we must know how to complete our sleep well and not be lured to see the latest notification…. while on a break, we must ensure that we take full rest, rather than over-exerting ourselves, due to being forced by others…. So, taking up a task by interest or any other reason is easy, but completing it with firmness, determination and courage is never easy! Hope I’ve answered your question 🙂
Hence, starting a task, is not actually a task, but finishing, truly is!
#We’ve had many tasks incomplete, so let’s just finish it. #Don’t quit, do it!

That’s a way. With a little more awareness we can find a productive task for ourselves. Completing a task is another interesting process.
Here, I agree with your opinion Kashvee. I’m really happy to know that you take care about your words, you accept your responsibility. Keep it up.

Dear Kashvee, yet another unique take on books marks and ‘bookmarks’…The poem that ensued is aptly worded…It has made me once again look into unfinished works and try to complete them at my own pace but without guilt or regrets of time lost..The book marks , handcrafted are a visual treat too..So do continue highlighting your views on multifarious topics…All the best…

Dear Di ,
This blog really made me understand the symbolic and inner meaning of bookmarks we use . We never pay attention that ,why bookmarks?
Seriously I need to learn a lot from you.
The way you imagine things and then pen it down is amazing .
And I loved your poem.
Even I will try to make one of those bookmarks.
